Description
Here is the old Matchbox 1/32 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109E kit,
finished in the markings of Hans "Assi" Hahn.
The Cutting Edge 1/32 scale resin cockpit and wheel wells,
designed for the Hasegawa kit, were adapted for use on the Matchbox
109. This did not involve too much surgery.
Wing flaps and leading edge slats were cut off and repositioned
dropped.
Some distraction from the deeply recessed panel lines was
attempted by adding lines of rivets to the wings and fuselage using
the MDC rivet making tool.
The model was painted with the Atzek A470 airbrush fitted with
the fine tan-colored tip.
Decals are from EagleCals.
Construction and painting of this model will be fully described
in the forthcoming Osprey Modelling title, "Modelling the
Messerschmitt Bf 109 Part One".
